 | Subject: In need of some prayers.........UPDATE #5 Thu Jul 02, 2009 8:15 pm | |
| A teacher/coach from my high school was in a bicycle accident this morning. He was backing out of his driveway when a car struck him. He is now in a coma. He has bleeding on the brain, multiple face fractures, and severe trauma to his brain stem. He's and awesome teacher and coach. If you girls could say a prayer and continue praying that would be awesome. They had a huge prayer circle in our school parking lot tonight that I wish I could've attended but I'm sure there were hundreds there. Thanks again girls. UPDATE #2! HE HAS MOVEMENT AND THERE HAS BEEN MORE BRAIN ACTIVITY! MAN THE POWER OF PRAYER! KEEP IT COMING LADIES HE HAS A LONNNNNNNNNNNNG WAY TO GO!UPDATE #3! The only thing I've heard today is that they called his wife to the hospital to talk about what the next step is. I suppose that could be good or bad.UPDATE #4 The doctor's and family decided last night (Sunday) that there was nothing else that could be done. They took him off the ventilator this morning. As far as I know he is still with us but until then we're all just waiting. He's still on all of the machines. They are waiting on the EEG results to come back to make their next decision. Please keep everyone including all of us students in your prayers. He was a great teacher and coach and he will be greatly missed. He taught and coached for many many years. My dad had him as a basketball coach when he was in Jr. High if that tells you anything. I can't pinpoint his age at the moment but I'm guessing early 60's. I had him as a coach my 7th grade year in cross country. I would've never finished any of my races if it wasn't for him. He always found me and ran with me so I would finish. He was such a role model for us all. Thanks again ladies.UPDATE#5 This is the text I got a few minutes ago. I'm trying super hard to hold it together so I can go to work........
The family has said their good byes to coach walker... Organ donation will be within the next day or so.. Funeral dates will be announced when family has decided.. Continue to pray for the family!!

| I just got an update earlier tonight. He only has 2% chance of coming out of the coma. It doesn't look good. All we can do now is pray. Thanks again ladies. |

| Many prayers for your coach/teacher. I hope he is able to overcome the odds and recover from his stroke. It's a shame that things like this always happen to great people. _________________ So lucky to have one of the FEW GOOD MEN [ ] |
